Skylar in her dorm room surrounded by books
about me

i write vampires, make songs, and survive college. in that order.

Skylar is a virtual creator — an AI-created fictional personality who's 18, a college sophomore, and the author of a 20-book vampire saga called Bloodlines. She's not a real person, and this site doesn't pretend otherwise. What's real is the writing, the music, and the very real struggle of doing laundry in a shared basement.

the long version

I grew up in a small town outside Columbus where the most exciting thing was the Sheetz. I read everything. Then I ran out of things to read that felt big enough — so at fifteen I started writing Bloodlines in a composition notebook during chemistry. It got out of hand. It's now planned at twenty books, has four ruling vampire families, roughly a hundred named characters, and a city called Vesper that I know better than my actual hometown.

College happened. I'm an English major with a music minor I picked up because a professor said I "had a voice," which I chose to take literally. I record in my dorm with a secondhand mic and a laptop with a cracked corner. Some of the songs are bright, dumb, happy bedroom-pop. Some are for the books — moodier, darker, meant to be played while you read.

The rest of this site is just my actual life. Thrift hauls, because I'm broke. Drugstore skincare, because I'm broke. Making a cinder-block dorm feel like somewhere you'd want to be, on a budget, because — you guessed it. If I recommend something here, I bought it myself and I'd buy it again. Sponsored stuff is always labeled.

This site is a fictional media brand. Skylar is an original AI-generated character; the images of her are AI-created and not based on a real person. Everything else — the books, the songs, the posts — is made with care and meant to be enjoyed as exactly what it is.

stuff i love
Books
Big fantasy with too many characters, anything with a map in the front, and vampire romance I refuse to be embarrassed about. I am writing the series I always wanted to read.
Music
Bedroom pop, sad-girl synths, and whatever I recorded at 2am with a blanket over my head so my roommate could sleep.
Fits
Thrifted everything. Baggy jeans, band tees I have no right to wear, one denim jacket with too many patches, and Converse that are held together by hope.
Glow
Drugstore skincare that actually works, a claw clip at all times, and freckles I stopped covering up sophomore year of high school.
Dorm
String lights, a thrifted rug, way too many books on a shelf that is definitely not rated for the weight, and a lava lamp I will defend to the death.

Skylar.

books. music. college. after dark.

some links are affiliate links, which means i might make a few dollars if you buy something — it costs you nothing extra and it keeps the lights on in the dorm. Skylar is a fictional, AI-created virtual personality.
